My travels thus far have been to SLO with the girls >> LA >> Davis with my best, and I'm off to NJ in the morning!!!
I'm from San Luis Obispo. I loved growing up there and appreciate it so much every time I come home. With such a slower pace than LA, it's fun to take a break every few months and see my favorite people and my favorite places.
Here are just a few of them..
Coverings. If you've been there, you know that it's amazing. If you haven't, it sucks to be you. Being my first employer at the ripe age of 17, I have a special connection to the Cov Girls and I LOVE visiting. There is always the perfect assortment of dressier clothes, casual clothes, jeans, loungewear, accessories, and shoes. Seriously, it's like being at disneyland for the fashionable (but maybe a little more expensive).
Ellie, Heather, and I went in (on Heather's day off nonetheless) and I made some fabulous purchases with help from my personal shopper Miss Brooke Franklin:
- Ella Moss Racerback with a hot knitted front
- Hero Crane Gauze Vest
- J Brand Denim leggings (yeah I know, I'm obsessed)
- Vince Long Sleeve ADORRRRABLE top
- Blank Denim skirt that I've wanted for at least 2 weeks (I saw it in a picture and forced Ellie to help me find it)
- Siwy shorts that are tie dye gray and pink!
Later, Heather and I prepared for a night on the town at our gorgeous Dolphin Bay Villa. Since it IS Spring Break, I/Mark's CC felt it was necessary to have a room on the beach. Not only is the restaurant (Lido) one of the best brunches I have had on the cliffs at Shell Beach, but the Resort was beautiful and I will definitely be going back when the sun comes out. Continuing my amazing day, Heath and I headed to Novo for dinner on the creek IN THE POURING RAIN (my favorites on the menu are the calamari and spring rolls.. NUMMMMS)and then to DTB for music and drinks.
And there you have it, a few of my favorite places in beautiful SLO. But there's one more thing Elise and Ellie would KILL me if I didn't mention in my list of favs: The Madonna Inn. Without fail, the three of us always manage to find our hungover way to Madonna after a night out for a delicious breakfast in the Copper Cafe. I don't know what it is, the pink sugar or multicolored goblets that just make a hangover go buh-bye, but something just does the trick. Also, our birthdays are simply incomplete without a Madonna Inn Cake (Ellie's signature is Black Forest and mine is Pink Champagne.. Definitely a must-try if you're in the area).
Well, I'm off get some beauty rest for my big day in the air tomorrow. More to come on Spring Break in a few days!
LYMI.
