At the moment, I'm enjoying a GREAT lecture on the difference between generic and brand name food. Huhhh? It has only been 31 minutes since class started and I'm falling asleep. I want to be outside but, even though I'm aware this degree I'm getting is only an expensive accessory and not a necessity, I HAVE TO STAY IN CLASS. Dilemma? I think so.
Here's what I think: the gorgeous sunny day I'm being forced to miss out on is only a great excuse to figure out my summer wardrobe! I get a glare on my computer screen when the sun shines on it anyway.. I'm SO smart.
First off, my Siwy cutoff shorts and Tory tie-dye-ish shorts are going to be well worn by the time fall rolls around. I'm loving this for my Siwys (they're grey and pink and sound ugly but are TOTALLY cute). I don't know if it's the 15 lbs I gained freshman year or what, but I'm totally into loose sweaters. I like this because A. it's baggy (we've already gone over this), B. it's holey so you can wear it over your b-suit (Zuma beach is always pretty windy), C. a long sleeve underneath + leggings + boots = HOT!
Did I say bathing suit? Let's chat. Last summer I got this great Maya swimsuit thinking I would get skinny again and wear it (it's a Brazilian bottom.. oh no). Weight loss did not happen and this pretty pink suit has barely been worn. So, I'm hanging it up in a very obvious location at Cielo and every time I see it will force myself to do 100 crunches. Seriously.. I WILL be able to wear this bathing suit by May 1st. Speaking of bathing suits, gimme gimme (both the suit and the body, please).
It's kind of nice interning at a showroom because while I steam things I become familiar with certain styles I will be seeing in stores in the future season. Before we got in fall styles a few weeks ago, summer consisted of a lot of studs, some hippie looking items (cutoff shorts and some flowy dresses with floral prints), STRIPES, burnout (my fav were some Bobi burnout leggings with a scrunched bottom-way cute), and very romantic/sexy/tight dresses and skirts. While dressing the mannequins one day I put together a pair of Costa Blanca dark grey cutoff shorts with studs on the pockets with a sheer floral print peasant top and it was really cute.. you never expect different "genres" to go well together but I focused on it and have to admit, my mannequins were hot.
OMG. If you're ever in downtown LA, you HAVE to get a salmon burger from Market Cafe. Sorry, I swear I have ADD..
Anyways, what I absolutely had to have for summer (and bought already, whoopsies) is a red purse. I got this cute hobo from Tory Burch (who would've thought??) that has a huge fringe tassel. SO soft, SO adorable, and reasonably priced. I originally wanted the Rebecca Minkoff Mini Rikki because it can be worn cross body (so great right now) but fell in love (mine doesn't have the tan) when I went to visit my mom at Tory. I guess I'll have to wait on my cross body.. :/
Another thing I want right now is a jean jacket. I haven't had one since my freshman year in high school, but I like this one. Not that this thought is relevant, but I'm so NOT in love with military-theme clothing that is coming around.. Noooo thank you.
I have successfully been avoiding listening to my professor for an hour and 28 minutes now.. I'm so good at what I do :)
Well, see yah.
PS.. April 2nd = LATER DAYS at Canyon Club. I have tickets so let me know if anyone wants them!
